If you are really bored, here is a picture of me. It isn't very good because it was taken by accident. I was hooking up a camera on a machine at work and didn't realize that the picture was taken. Since it was, I figured I would at least use it for something.
My computer experience dates back to about 1982 and a Texas Instruments TI-994a computer. Since then I have had and/or used many machines, peripheral devices, operating systems, and software ranging from 8-bit CP/M machines through VAX minicomputers and, of course, the IBM-PC family. I have written software for many platforms, and in many languages including BASIC, FORTRAN, Assembly, PASCAL, C, and C++.
Computers in general - Based on the number of years I've been using these things, it is easy to see that I really enjoy messing with them. I've seen them grow from the TRS-80 days (yes, that is well before the IBM-PC or Microsoft was even thought of), through mainframes and minicomputers, to the machines we have today. I saw what they could do then and I know what they can do now. While my list of gripes with the latest trends in software is extrmely long, I would hate to go back to what we had many years ago!
Photography - I have been interested in photography since I was in Junior High School when I took a job with a local camera shop. You can see some examples on my Fish page (although some of them are admittedly pretty bad). I've done a lot of darkroom work, both color and black-and-white, although none in the past several years.
Amateur Radio - I have been a licensed Amateur Radio Operator (Ham) since 1976. I currently hold an Amateur Extra class license (the highest offered in the United States) with the callsign WA4TTK.
Flying - I earned my pilot's license in 1978 and currently hold an Airplane, Single-Engine, Land certificate with an Instrument Airplane rating.
Aquaria - I was intorduced to freshwater aquaria and fish keeping in 1997 and have developed a keen interest in it. I now have 2 tanks with about 30 fish in them. Details and photographs are available on my Fish Tank page.
Racing - Probably my number 1 passion, I'll watch or go to a race anywhere, anytime. I've been that way since the early 60's when my step-brother worked for Cosworth, Ltd. and got me interested in F-1. While I don't have any "Seat Time" myself (although I was pretty good with radio-controlled cars) I love to watch them. I guess my favorite classes would be Formula-1, NASCAR Winston Cup, CART, and SCCA Trans-Am. Other classes are acceptible as well because everyone knows that "A bad day at the Racetrack is better than a good day at work!"
Cats - While I don't profess to be a Cat Fanatic I wouldn't trade the one we have now for anything. Her name is Lucy and she is just a calico "DLH" (Domestic Long Hair) but she is pretty special to us.
Modeling - I started building scale models as a kid back in the early 60's. Since then I have built for a while and then quit for a while and built for a while and quit for a while. I started building again in early 2004 and have had a great time with it again. To see some of my latest models take a look at My Modeling Page
